Message to COAGO 2010 Participants!

A loyal local following and many attending industry supporters from around the country made this year's Central Ohio Aviation Golf Outing yet another success. September 10th brought us our 8th annual fund raiser, which included good weather, good times and a chance to spend the day with one another.

Hat's off to those many sponsors who dug deep in 2010 and were able pitch our cause at the home office to continue in support of up and coming AMTs who qualify and need assistance with scholarship funds and FAA testing fees.

Special thanks to Dallas Airmotive for going the extra distance and providing our post play sit down meal, something we all need and appreciate after a few hours of thrashing our way around the beautiful Willow Run Golf Course.

Additionally, we appreciate the help and attendance of several new sponsors in this year's event which included Constant Aviation, Cobham Avionics, Columbus State Aviation Maintenance Technology, DAC International, Aircell, Prime Turbines, WestStar Aviation and CAMP Systems.

It's hard to travel without adequate fuel, and that's where the beverage carts hostesses come to our rescue. Big Thanks to each of the Ladies who endure dodging golf balls, thirsty players and male egos for six hours every year. You're the Best!

Team work not only comes into play on the links, but in preparation for and during the Central Ohio Aviation Golf Outing. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Ralph and Shirley Graves for their participation year after year as they see to raffle ticket sales, which as you know, goes on for hours. Although seamless to those who sign up and play, financial accounting can be one of the bigger challenges in making each outing a success, here's where I tip my hat to the COPAMA Treasure Lowell Dowler.

In 2010, how do you spell relief "Joe Lippert" who participated in many ways this year from sales to signage. Then there's the proof of work performed here our resident records keeper Gene Sprang pitches in with Photos and score keeping. Thanks to each and every one of you, who even long before my involvement, have contributed to and continue to make this event a grand success.

Organizers of the Central Ohio Aviation Golf Outing only ever get a few months off, preparations start early each calendar year. In 2011, Joe Lippert will be taking the controls and I know you'll support him as you have every previous chairperson. My hope for next year is that a couple of you will step up, pitch in and help him with some of the many tasks it takes to pull this event together. Each year it's pretty clear there is more interest, more attendees and more vendors to contact as the outing's popularity continues to grow. It's rewarding, you get the opportunity to meet lots of great people and at the same time serve your chosen profession, please consider giving Joe a call.

Again, Thanks to all of you for contributing, participating and taking time from whatever you might otherwise be doing on a beautiful Friday in September to be a part of the Central Ohio Aviation Golf Outing and supporting COPAMA's primary causes promoting aviation maintenance careers and supporting entry level AMTs.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

Irv Schumacher
