Willow Run Golf Course, September 9th, 2011.
Another Great Day for all who attended!
Co-Hosted by COPAMA and the Professional Pilots Association
Again this year, Central Ohio aviators took the links to enjoy a day of golf with their friends and coworkers. The weather threatened the opening with fog and mist but soon changed to partly cloudy skies for the COAGO event. 150 players teed off on September 9th to enjoy a day of relaxation, food and raffle prizes for our local aviators, sponsors and guests.
This event, which was co-hosted by the Professional Pilots Association (PPA), has been the main fundraiser for the COPAMA Scholarship Fund which provides monetary awards for tuition and testing fees of local student Aviation Maintenance Technicians. The event proceeds will keep the fund ready to help those who request testing scholarship help for next year.
We're still collecting the data and photos from this years event, so please check back to see this years COAGO 2011 Report and see the many photos of Teams and action on the course.
We want to thank all the staff of Willow Run and the many volunteers who made this years event possible. Click on the logo above for more information about Willow Run golf course. Visit last year's Outing Report.

COAGO 2011 Message from Golf Outing Chairman, Joe Lippert.
The challenges started early this year with finding the
entrance to the golf course. We were all greeted by dense fog early Friday
morning and the journey to the golf course was certainly an adventure in its own
right. As the morning progressed and
the fog dissipated, we were all left wondering if, and maybe when, it would
rain. But the rains held off and the clouds eventually thinned to sunshine for
the back nine of everyone’s round.
I would like to thank all of the people who made our day of
golf and camaraderie possible beginning and ending with the Willow Run Staff. As
the chairman for this outing for the first time, I was amazed at the amount of
work that goes in to presenting this event, most of which happens in the 48
hours leading up to the first swing! From the first sign in the ground until the
last tablecloth removed, it is nonstop activity for everyone involved to ensure
a seamless day of fun for all of the participants.
To all of our vendors who participated in sponsoring an
activity, I want to extend my sincere thanks. As most of you know, this event
accounts for the majority of our fundraising to fund our scholarships. A special
thank you to our major sponsors. To Scott Crawford and Bombardier for coming
forward and sponsoring the post golf dinner, thank you very much. To Jay Randall
at Dallas Airmotive for sponsoring the Snack at the Turn, thank you Jay. Dave
Godo and West Star Aviation, thank you very much for sponsoring the trophies.
To our Breakfast sponsors, Larry Rohrbach from Hawker Beech, and Matt
Richardson from Comlux, I want to express a special thank you for agreeing to
co-sponsor the breakfast after registering for the sponsorship within six
minutes of one another. It is this generosity that allows us to extend financial
aid to so many deserving students. Thank you to all of our sponsors for all you
do.
To all of the game day volunteers who gave of their time.
Earl for helping set up, Victoria for the photographs, Gene and Bill for
registration and just about anything else that needed done, Ralph and Shirley
for handling raffle ticket sales and raffle prize accounting.
Lastly, I want to thank all of you, the golfers. For
without you, there simply would not be an outing.
I look forward to seeing all of you next year for another
great day of golf and fun. See you next year!
Joe Lippert
